It all started with an invitation from Hon Max Trenorden MLA, who saw the need for a dedicated environmental voice in the Avon Valley. That's how AVES came together in 1991, starting as a place for locals to talk about protecting what we love.
Over time, we shifted gears. Debates turned into doing—planting trees, clearing paths, and watching over the rivers. Our constitution laid the groundwork, emphasizing sustainable ways to grow the community while keeping the environment front and center.
Building on Tradition
From early grants like the 1997 one for revegetating old gravel pits to today's member busy bees, we've stayed true to our start. It's about balancing progress with preservation, just as we set out to do.
