Conservation.
The Avon Valley Environmental Society Inc. (AVES) is a volunteer-driven group founded in 1991. We focus on the riparian zones of the Avon and Mortlock Rivers through revegetation, mulching, track maintenance, wildlife research, river biological health surveys, and liaison with local community groups.

Environmental Care
Our current activities include revegetation, mulching, track maintenance, seat making, sign making, grant proposal preparation, and liaising with the Shire of Northam and other local community groups.

Trail Maintenance
Maintaining tracks like Dorntj Koorliny, making seats and signs, building bridges and gazebos, and supporting safe public access.

Wildlife Surveys
Conducting wildlife research, habitat checks, Rakali surveys, and river biological health surveys.
